The method

OperatorOS™: the system behind better Venue Yield.

Venue Yield™ is the measure. OperatorOS™ is the method. Venue Yield explains what we measure. This page explains how the work is actually run.

One business, not eight separate departments

OperatorOS™ is The Foundry's structured process for analysing and improving hospitality businesses.

Instead of looking at each area in isolation, OperatorOS identifies how they interact.

OperatorOS is designed to identify the commercial relationship between decisions, rather than optimising one metric at the expense of another.

OperatorOS™

Meet OperatorOS™

The system behind better Venue Yield™.

OperatorOS™ is The Foundry's structured process for analysing and improving hospitality businesses.

Instead of looking at each area in isolation, OperatorOS identifies how they interact.

  • Increasing sales may be pointless if the additional revenue requires disproportionate labour.
  • Reducing labour may damage customer experience and decrease spend.
  • Aggressive promotions may increase revenue but weaken gross profit.
  • A cheaper supplier may reduce product quality and customer retention.

OperatorOS is designed to identify the commercial relationship between decisions, rather than optimising one metric at the expense of another.

Technology inside OperatorOS

Operator judgement, supported by the right tools.

OperatorOS™ is not a single piece of software. It is The Foundry's commercial optimisation methodology, bringing together the information and systems that show how a hospitality business is actually performing.

Depending on the venue and the scope of the review, this may include EPOS data, purchasing and supplier information, rotas and payroll, booking data, customer activity, marketing performance, operating costs and specialist tools developed for particular commercial problems.

For stock-related analysis, The Foundry can use StockLens AI — our hospitality stock-intelligence platform — to support the examination of product usage, variance, stock performance, recipe costing and gross-profit opportunities.

StockLens AI supports specific parts of OperatorOS™ where relevant. It does not replace the wider commercial analysis or operator judgement behind a Venue Yield Review™.

OperatorOS and technology, answered

Is OperatorOS software?

No. OperatorOS™ is The Foundry's commercial optimisation methodology. It brings together operator judgement, commercial analysis, venue data and relevant technology. Tools such as StockLens AI may support particular parts of the process, but OperatorOS™ is not a single software product.

Do I need StockLens AI to work with The Foundry?

No. StockLens AI is used only where it is relevant to the venue and the agreed scope. A Venue Yield Review™ may use information from EPOS, purchasing, payroll, bookings, marketing and operating systems without requiring StockLens AI.

What can StockLens AI support?

StockLens AI can support stock-related analysis, including product usage, variance, missing stock, recipe performance and potential GP opportunities. Its outputs are considered alongside the wider commercial and operational picture.

What could your venue yield?

Start with a Venue Yield Review™. You get a structured view of where the commercial return is being lost, and a plan for what to do first.
